Ben and Holly – It happened on an island…

This Catalina wedding was one of the most chill weddings I’d seen in a long time.  Unlike most Catalina weddings, this wedding was full of local “Catalinans”, because the bride and groom, Holly and Ben, grew up on the island.  They are no strangers to driving around in golf carts, being on waiting lists for 20 years to get a car, and working on boat rentals during the summer.  The ride over made me a little queasy, but once I hit land things got better fast.  Here are some of my favorite shots.  I’m using some new borders, what do you think?

No tuxedos for these groomsmen!

The father of the groom performed a very touching ceremony.  What a cool dad!

Cupcakes were the dessert, so yummy and no need for plates or cake-cutters.

There were some classic toasts, you could tell they picked the right bridal party.

This wedding is another one I did a while ago, but it was before my bloggin days, and I wanted to give you all the story behind some images you see in my portfolio.  Have a great day!

Christina and Will

This wedding was such an amazing event, with a classic feel but not lacking in elegance.  Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the Western Hills Country Club in Chino Hills.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Her uncle walked her down the aisle, more on that later.

I could tell this was a very spiritually committed couple.

The flower girls were so sweet.  And so well behaved!

My assistant Pat got this great shot right before entering the reception:

The groomsmen were a hoot.

I love these colors!

I don’t bring props, weddings have plenty of them!

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room for this first dance!  Here’s the story:  Her father had passed away a few years ago, so her uncle played the role of father of the bride.  They told her the first dance song would be “Butterfly Kisses”, but what they didn’t tell her was that it would be a recording (with video) of her father singing that song to her.  It was absolutely the most moving first dance I’ve seen in my life, and I’ve seen quite a few of these!

They had some great toasts.

Christina had a great wedding!

This was a while back, but I only started blogging recently.  I’ll post more of these each week to give a little background on each wedding I’ve done.

What an awesome wedding!

I assisted my friend Jen Disney a few weeks ago shoot Rob and Robin’s wedding. These are a few of my favorite shots:

I recently got Boutwell Studios‘s “Totally Rad Actions” and I think they are awesome. I’m looking for new ways to really give brides unique images that will fill them with warm fuzzies every time they look at them. I hear they may come out with a new set soon, which I will likely purchase because of how good their first set is. I’m a sucker for companies with good products, and I think the best “buzz” for marketing is one based on someone really getting value for something they bought. I hope my brides see their photography that way!
