I’ve been friends with Mike since I was a kid, and I truly enjoyed taking part in this wedding. I saw a ton of “blasts from the past”, and I had the pleasure of introducing my wife to people who didn’t even know I was married. It really made me think about how easy it is to lose touch, and that I need to not just rely on social media to keep in touch with people’s lives. I was amazed at how relaxed they were during their engagement session, which I will be blogging in the near future. For their wedding, these guys had an interesting approach – they didn’t try to plan out every detail, or even pretend like they had. They rolled with the punches and really it was a near-perfect day, all things considered. As long as you have a few friends who know what’s supposed to happen, and are willing to step in as needed, it can really be a low-stress event. As if the simple fact you are getting MARRIED is not enough stress, people! As always, I have a slideshow, and then some of my favorites. Enjoy!

I love the feel of this shot.

He cleans up nice.
My wife Masha is blowing my mind right now with what’s she’s getting out of our F/2.8 lenses. I need to buy some for her exclusive use!

I love this shot my wife took of me.

This wedding had a coin toss.

Trying to shoot romantic couples shots on a crowded beach was new challenge – oh, and we only had 10 minutes to do it all. I’m really happy with ’em anyway.

Me: Let’s sneak out to the courtyard for 5 minutes of perfect light. Them: OK!

The sunset was smashing.
The toasts were touching.

The groom’s parents, long time family friends. They had their own little “first dance”. Ever.
LOVED the cupcakes. And the mini-cake too.

This wedding reminded me that we didn’t have enough Journey at our wedding. It’s timeless music.

This dress was perfect!

First look….

The flower/ring squad was great.

We only ended up with a few minutes of this amazing light, but I think it’s all we needed….

This one’s for you…
The included a Vietnamese tradition as well… YO!!
Doesn’t it look like it’s floating away??
Here I am playing with the new LED lights I got a few weeks ago.

First look at each other – so genuinely in love.

One of my favorite altar faces ever.

I’m glad no children were trampled when I was running backward to get this shot!

Rose Garden? Yes, please.

She tried to steal the show…

This is why I love taking a 10 minute sunset portrait session during the reception.
