I’ve known Adam forever.  Literally since I was 10 years old.  When he contacted me about his wedding, I was thrilled to reconnect and meet the woman to be his wife.  You may recognize them from their Engagement Session in Crystal Cove, or maybe you saw them in a magazine somewhere (they could be, right?).  The ceremony and reception were both held at the Muckenthaler (or just “the Muck”) in Fullerton, CA.

I love the “Bride in Transit” shots.

I love the bubble recessional!  However, it did give my auto-focus system a run for its money.

This is why I recommend stepping away from the reception for 10 minutes of sunset portraits.

Here’s a beautiful wedding I photographed aboard the Ambassador from Pacific Avalon Yacht Charters.  Steven and Brittney have that special awkwardness/affection that reminded me of being engaged myself.  They were so cool and collected the whole day, and they opted for a really special “first look”.  His reaction was priceless.  There engagement photos can be found here.

I have fallen in love with downtown LA. This wedding was held at the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens, which truly brings class and convenience on the wedding day.  Once I got used to where the elevators were, this day was a breeze.  It was hard to take a bad picture of these two.  Their wedding was beautiful and I hope my photography does it justice.  If you enjoyed these photos, please leave a comment in the comment box below.

I had a tough time narrowing it down, but here are my favorites.

Dennis and Abby agreed to see each other before their ceremony, and it was a touching event.

Note to photographers: This was my first wedding using the lightweight but impressively sharp Canon 85mm F/1.8.  The first one I got was a dud, but the replacement is working very well.  These are mostly shot at F/2.

We went to the Disney Concert Hall to take some wedding portraits.  Even in the worst light of the day, I love all the shots we got there.

I gotta say I LOVE these umbrellas!  The hotel has a Japanese theme, and these somehow fit in very well.

I didn’t have a stream running through my wedding ceremony!

She had to ford the river to get to her groom…

The lobby at the Kyoto Grand Hotel is breathtaking.  Such cool furniture.

Dennis’s sister sang a powerful rendition of  “At Last” by Etta James.  What a diva!

Dennis had a chance to show off his skills at “Slappin’ da bass’.  He was really good!

Abby changed near the end of the reception into something more comfortable.

Note to photographers: I don’t have a dedicated macro lens.  I get all my ring shots with a 50mm F1.4 with a 25mm extension tube ($80).  It’s tough to use, but the results are amazing.  I do hope to get a dedicated macro lens.  Any suggestions?? (please respond in the comments below)

Tiffanie and Mark hosted a beautiful wedding in Napa a few weeks ago.  Both the ceremony and reception were held at the V. Sattui Winery and I was blown away by their castle-like architecture and excellent staff.  Every detail was polished and these two were both relaxed and ready for this occasion.  Tiffanie and Mark, I am so grateful that I got to be a part of your big day, and I wish you both all the best in your new life together.  It was one of our best 4th of July weekends yet!

In case anyone asks, this is NOT EVA LONGORIA!  Quite the resemblance, wouldn’t you say?
