Trevor and Stephanie – Engagement Session

I met these two at a bridal fair on the Queen Mary (that huge ship that is eternally docked in Long Beach Harbor).  They both share a love of the outdoors, and they wanted engagement photos with completely natural surrounding.  I was amazed to find anything in LA County that was this green or untouched.  I’m looking forward to your wedding in June!  Enjoy the photos!pope_0001

Victor and Christine: The Engagement Session

Victor and Christine are an amazing couple doing amazing things in some far away countries.  They share a love for the Lord, and a love for people who are in need.  I hope these photos show how much they love each other!  The wedding is coming up soon, and it is going to be beautiful.  I couldn’t narrow it down any further, so here’s a whole bunch of my favorites:

Mike and Sarah: Engaged!

Mike is a good friend of mine who I met while on the Newport Beach Summer Project with Campus Crusade for Christ back in 2003.  He’s famous for his “napkin art”, where he basically makes some pretty amazing drawings in a short time at fast food joints across the US.  He also paints and is basically the chillest guy I know.

Mike popped the question a while back, and he and his fiancee have invited me to photograph their wedding in Ohio in June.  While they were in LA, we decided to head down to Venice Beach (these two are pretty artsy) and try out a new location.  Turned out to be a really fun time and an AMAZING sunset.  Check ’em out.

This was just staged, I know, kinda cheezy.  I’d love to shoot a real proposal if anyone’s interested!

Mike and Sarah have committed themselves to waiting until their wedding day to kiss, so this photo shoot really tested their resolve.  What studs!

I should just start these shoots at sunset – those are always my favorites anyway.

Thanks guys!  I had so much fun and I can’t wait to see you in Ohio.

Merry Christmas! And the Peca Christmas Portraits.

Matt and Sarah are both in the worship band at Harbor Trinity, our church in Costa Mesa, and Matt is a full-time pastor there as well.  We all watched as Sarah came full term and now little Caleb is officially the cutest kid on the block.  We had so much fun shooting this, and I liked how they were willing to shoot inside their home, as well as some other not-so-standard locations.  I think these kind of “environmental” portraits really bring back the memories years down the road because of the familiarity of the surroundings.  Plus, there’s zero chance another family will be using the same location for photos! (This happened to me recently at a number of different popular parks in Orange County).  This turned out to be one of my favorite family portraits of all time.  Enjoy.

peca-1I say put the kid in a position he is always in all the time anyway!
